Last updated: 24 August 2026

1. Introduction

Privacy Ghana Assistant (“we”, “our” or “us”) is an educational tool that helps individuals and organisations in Ghana understand data protection principles based on the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you create an account and use the service.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to provide the service:

  • Account information: your email address and authentication details managed by our auth provider. We do not collect Ghana Card numbers, PINs, passwords outside the sign-in flow, or any other government-issued identifiers.
  • Usage data: anonymised technical logs (e.g., error reports and feature usage) used to improve reliability and performance.

3. How we use your information

We use your email address to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Authenticate you when you sign in;
  • Send essential service-related notifications; and
  • Respond to support requests.

We do not sell your personal data, use it for unrelated marketing, or train AI models on your inputs.

4. Data storage and security

Account data is stored with our backend provider using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted and logged. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

5. Your rights

Under Act 843, you have rights to access, correct and request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You may also delete your account at any time by requesting deletion through the same channel.

6. Third-party services

We use trusted providers for authentication and hosting. These providers process data only on our behalf and under appropriate security and confidentiality obligations.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy and, where appropriate, by email.
